know how to manage? The director
of the Management Center of the
'Collee-of Business Administratiom
says the answer probably is "no."

acquired them through formal
exposure such as college and
special management programs.
"The majority of managers,
however," Helton says, "still need
some broad business management
education."
USC is doing something about
the situation through its continuing
education programs providing
education to managers at all
levels.

"Role playing in the area of
communications, for example, was
especially effective in dramatizing
the flaws in communications in
business," Helton said.
Besides communications, the
course covers human relations
business organization, business
policy, labor relations, data
control, marketing and economics
and finance.
The next Supervisor Develop

Helton said selection of par
ticipants is made on the basis of
individual applications, and each
applicant should be nominated by

A roving actor wil present his
flourished during the Renaissance
House Assembly Room.
Avadon-Black, the actor, folows
the pattern of the Montebanks,
traveling performers who
flourished during the Renaissance.
He has been on the road of over a
year now and performs with no
prior booking and with no financial
compensation except donations.
His show combines his traveling
experiences the poetry of Stephen
Crane and e.e. cummings and even
magic. Two performances will be
held at USC, one Wednesday at 8
p.m. and the other Saturday at 6
P-m. Both will be in the Russell

Dr. Matthew J. Bruccoli, a USC
English professor, has spent the
past four years compiling the news
stories of Ernest Hemingway.
Hemingway was 18 years old

It was a slow methodical search
hrough musty records, through
nterviews with those who had
mown Hemingway during his
;even months on the Kansas City
lewspaper, and. reading of the

10, 1918.
Among the stories collected by
Iruccoli were those telling of the
~nd of an ambulance run, of the

nan suffering from smallpox, of a

Professor William W. Savage,
