'Cocks Hi To Duke, BY JIM HANEY Sports Editor The Gamecocks will travel to Durham tomorrow for a rematch against the Duke Blue Devils, who will be out to avenge a 64-57 set back dealt to them by Carolina last Saturday. The Blue Devils have lost the last three games with the Game cocks, losing both battles last year. Duke coach Vic Bubas cited the Gamecocks' rebounding as a ma jor factor in the Blue Devils' fall Saturday. Carolina beat Duke on the boards 42-34 with Toni Owens picking off 21 misfires. Duke did not use a pressing de fense against the Gamecocks in the first game although they h a v e used the press effectively at times this year. The Gamecocks have run into trouble against a press only once this season. That was in the Flor ida State game. The game should feature two good individual matchups. Owens will be out to win another round against Duke's 6-10 center Randy Denton. Owens heat Denton on the boards 21-13 last Saturday. Blue Devil guard Dave Golden will probably draw the assignment of stopping high scoring J o h n Roche. Golden held Roche to 1' points in the first game and kept Roche from driving the baseline most of the afternoon. The Gamecocks are likely to stick with the three-two zone de fense they have used all year. They were fairly effective in keeping Duke away from the basket in the teams' first meeting. The 'Cocks held the Tigers' ace scorer Butch Zatazelo to 16 points the first match. Zatazelo is current ly scoring 23.3 points per game and near the top of the individual scoring race in the conferentce. Clemson won its first ACC vic tory Saturday night as they upset N. C.
