ED McDONALD ,s n Savage Article c Editor The Gamecock Dear Mr. Myers: Bill Savage was right when he a said that Kennedy was not a God, R A for if he were he could not be a C 11 great man. The "Hail Caesar" d variety of Kennedy's critics in h vite reactions like "not that 1 r loved him but that I loved Rome )1 more," or "the king is dead, long live the king." Kennedy is unique in that he is & d the first American President to capture the imagination of the cl world and win its respect. v n GABRIEL BATARSEH i 1:ditor . The Ga mecock Dear .1r. MIyers: I am writing in reference to l Hill Savage's article in the Dec. 3 issue of The Gamecock. The V prejudice evidenced in the article , entitled "Kennedy: He Was Not Unique" obviously stems from the attitude of such extreme right-wingers and advocates of the mounting hate campaign in the United States. U Mr. Savage states that we are not to judge the greatness of the late John F. Kennedy, that time 11 will decide this issue. He seems to have made an iron - clad de- 13 cision already that Mr. Kennedy f was insignificant! Should you not "practice what you preach?" id I suggest that Mr. Savage inform a. himself with good writing - self ,f contradiction in any writing is ( distasteful. .TAMIES B.
