ED McDONALD s Savage Article r Editor The Gamecock Dear Mr. Myers: Bill Savage was right when he a said that Kennedy was not a God for if he were he could not be e 1 great man. The "Hail Caesar' I variety of Kennedy's critics in b vite reactions like "not that I r loved him but that I loved Romc more," or "the king is dead, long live the king." Kennedy is unique in that he is d the first American President tc capture the imagination of th< world and win its respect. GABRIEL BATARSEH Editor The Gamecock I)car .Ir. .1jters: I am writing in reference to Iiill Savage's article in the Dec. . issue of The Gamecock. The prejudice evidenced in the articlk entitled "Kennedy: le Was Not Unique" obviously stems from the attitude of such extreme right-wingers and advocates of the mounting hate campaign in the United States. Mr. Savage states that we are not to judge the greatness of the late John F. Kennedy, that time will decide this issue. He seems to have made an iron - clad de cision already that Mr. Kennedy was insignificant! Should you not "practice what you preach?" I I suggest that Mr. Savage inform himself with good writing - self I contradiction in any writing is I distasteful. .JAMES B. McFARLAND, JR. e Campus!!
