Since opening practice sessions on October 15 the players have been ironing out offensive prob lems, and have now got them down pat for the most part. While cen tering their practice periods around defense lately, the offensive plays are being woven into the picture in order to master both at the same time. The mistakes now being made are basic ones that can be over come with practice. Coach Pleased The hard-working head mentor also reports no injuries of any consequence, and .is well pleased with the way the players are responding to the strenuous condi tioning program. The team is working out on Davis Field part of the time, but the program also includes a good deal of "Skull Practice" and work-outs in the gym. These sessions have improved the players' stamina and their po tentials. Coach Stevens has been pleased so far with the spirit of the en tire team. -The players are taking an active interest in scrimmage, practice, and in "bull sessions" with the coaches and other cagers. Through this uplift in spirit, the squad works well as a unit, there by improving the team's strength. Students Interested Carolina students, too, have de veloped a keen interpst in the workings of the team and have attended practices and scrimmages regularly, much to the approval of the entire coaefiing staff. This school spirit is indicative of com ing support of the freshman and varsity teams as the season rolls around. All students are invited to at tend the practices at any time, as well as the varsity-freshman scrim mage tomorrow morning in the gymnasiuni.
