V[embers Of Co-Ed To Give Tea For The Legislators The Co-ed Association of the Jniversity will entertain mem ers of the state legislature with i tea from 5 until 7 p. m. March L9 in the lobby of Sims dormitory. The tea this year will replace the traditional supper usually given for the nembers of the General Assembly in the spring. Committee chairmen in charge Df the tea are Toni Child, pro gram; Helene Stem, decorations; and Margaret Eaeazer, refresh ments. All members of Co-ed were requested to sign up with the committee on which they wished to serve. A musical program will be pre sented during the.tea. At the meeting held Wednesday, February 26, in the Euphradian Hall, a letter was read from Mrs. Arney R. Childs, dean of women at the University, describing the Katherine Gibbes scholarship of $460 to be awarded to a female student at the University. Blanks for application are available at Dean Child's office. It was decided by the association to send money to New York to purchase boxes of food to be sent to needy students in Paris. TNTR S age Three thliea Parties To X Sorority Jniversity will begin Sunday, in Sims Lobby from 5 to 6 gin the following Wednesday ednesday of the next week, ursday, March 20. in participating in rush week No fees or registration will I be available at the tea which this, Pan Hellenic will com Invitations will be sent by each sorority for the parties. No so rority will give more than one party and all of these will be given Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday of the first week; Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday of the second week. All parties will be given from 7 until 9 p. m. with the exception of the first party on Wednesday, which will be given in the afternoon. Girls who wish to go through rush week must have a "C" aver age in twelve hours of academic work. All rushees may carry on nor mal conversation with sorority girls and they may date. How ever, no girl may be asked to join any sorority at the party and they are not allowed in the sorority rooms during the rush period. Thursday morning, March 20, will be a period of silence and in the afternoon preference bids will be filed with Mrs. Arney Childs. Late in the afternoon of the same day, bids from the sororities will be issued. If any girl going through rush week desires further information, contact Margaret Eleazer, presi dent of Pan Hellenic, at telephone 2-6121.
