Social BY KATHER Free Transportation The many friends of Catherine Lever are looking forward with a great deal of interest to her coining marriage to spot Mozingo. Many have thought for some time that this would be the best arrangement for the young levers. Spot has declared that lie will take all his friends to the wedding in his own new hack, even though it requires two trips. The Woods Move In Billy Woods and his new bride have just finished moving into the K. A. house, where Billy will continue as House Master. Through the expert teaching of the Weasel, Bernie Dun lap and Co., the winsome lassie has already learned to shake a fairly de cent cocktail. "I believe the woman's place is be .hind the bar," she blushingly confided to. an Empty Bottle reporter. "Billy and the boys have showed me so many things I never new before. I think they're all wonderful." Accordingly, the bar in the back of the house has been covered with new oil cloth in honor of the charming new keeper, and there is no more touching sight in the city today than this little shaker-upper fixing drinks for Billy and The Boys. Backing Out Again Once more the Tri Delts, A. D. Pi's, and Non-Sorority girls have refused to enter a candidate for the May Queen election, contending that they have no one whom they consider worthy of the honor. "I can see no reason for us to clut ter up the election," said Helen Town send, acting as spokesman for the three groups. "The Chi O's have their Fanny Butler, the Z. T. A's their Betty Horton, and so on. As long as we are unable to furnish any keen competition we may as well decline as gracefully as possible. The other out fits have been doing a mighty fine job of getting the right girl for May Queen, and no doubt will come through again this year. Until we pledge up somebody with a chance to win,-we are definitely out of the run ning." "He came around one night," the little red head said in her delightful' way," and asked me if it was all right for him to come in. Since he'd been coming in every night for lo these many years I thought the question was a little foolish, so I slammed the door in his face. I walked on into the parlor, and there he was sitting on the sofa fuddling with the radio. I don't know how he beat me to it, since the door was locked, but I ad mire men who won't take no for an answer, so we got friendly again, then went in for a little playful billing and cooing, then for some serious loving, and finally he whispered something in my ear. "I couldn't make out just what it was, but his pipe had gone out and I thought he'd asked if I had a match. I said yes, and next thing I knew he had me in front of a preacher, and I realized he'd asked me to marry him in German. You know when he gets the least bit tight he starts jabbering like his old man, so there I was, all promised up to marry. It seemed a shame to wake up a preacher at that hour without using him, so I went through with it." Asked about her plans for the fu ture, Mrs. Bradley made only one statement. "The first thing I'm go ing to do when we get settled down," she confided to our reporter, "is to learn German." Dickie Makes A Mistake Contrasting with this happy picture of two love birds in their nest is the story of Janet Reed and Dickie Pal mer, who almost came to the parting of their ways, all because Dickie drank one little can of beer. The tale in all its details is as follows: Dickie, having made his usual date with Janet for a big Sunday night, attired himself ' in the fine raiment made available by the K. A. Clothes for Sunday Night Dating Pool Sys tem, and set forth on his way rejoic ing. Passing the College Shop, he went in to get some fags, and fell in to the evil clutches of some incar nate feind who practically held him down and made him sip of the for bidden cup. Escaping from the den of transgressions he wended his way EWARD'S HALL S EACH 3PECT THEIR RECENTLY ROOM AND KITCHEN - - - - - $ 5.00 -- ------$18.00 ater and Green Streets whi 1.$ .98 $LI )T. o the home of Janet, intent on con essing all and starting anew, but was net at the door by his heart throb, vho gave him no chance to tell his iide of the story. "Dickie," she gasped, "you've been leceiving me," just like Red Goddard :onfessed to Caroline Monteith about :hree months ago. Dickie did all a man could do. He talked swiftly, and he talked well, but the damsel left him cold. "You've been drinking that nasty old beer," she burst out, "and next thing l know you'll be taking just little Irinks of something worse, then you'll start taking one every week, then every day, then a pint a day, then a luart, and first thing you know you'll be a sot, then you'll take a little dope, snd start smoking opium and killing people and kidnapping children and -but go ahead and go to the dogs. We're through." And with that she lammed the door. Nonplussed, poor Dickie bethought f some way to square himself with his erstwhile gal, and finally hit on a solution. Returning to the Reed domain, he stood outside the window, and whistled softly until Janet raised the sash. "Listen, honey," he pleaded, then he told a little white lie. "I had a drink for you all the time. Why didn't you give me a chance to tell you about it before you blew up?" She flew down the steps and flung the door open. "Oh Dickie," she chortled, "i do love you so." So we leave them drinking together in the moonlight, while the sparrows twittered sleepily, and-but that's another story. The Silent Witness The above is a striking likeness af he principal accessory to the fact in the recent Emerson-Sallenger case. Free Lunch Speaking of your queer incidents, ne of the most peculiar situations came up last week that this corres pondent has ever run into. A fair and winsome lassie from up state came down to see the boys and play; all she wanted was somebody to play with and a pleasant place to play in. As the girl already knew Dne of the big football players, she contacted him, and since she was a stranger in town, he naturally felt ob ligated to put her up for the night, said putting up bankrupting him and all his close kin and neighbors. How ever, the lass was provided with a -oof, but during the evening's frolics a quarrel ensued, and her gridiron iero left her in a huff. Now here's where the plot thickens. J'he next day she called up another sid beau, and when evening fell he al o had to scratch for her board and eep.
