"You -Can't Budge Us" Declare A. D. Pi's We stay Put" Sorority Gals Bay To House Mother. Betty Wrenshall, Steve Baker, Ann Moore, and Louise McDonald were pub licly bawled out yesterday by the A. D. Pi house mother for following too closely their stay-at-home policy. Finding the too-time girls sitting on the observatory steps, the indignant ma tron, not taking time to consider who might be listening in, struck an orator's pose and gave the girls a big piece of her mind. "Listen to me," she told them. "You've come to Carolina and joined a sorority; you're supposed to lead the way around here in more things than lolling around and wishing for some man to tip his hat. For three years you've sat in this town on week ends, while the other girls are going- places and meeting the right people. As far as I know, the only per son you know outside Columbia is the ice man in your home town. I'm getting fed up with seeing you so much; all of you are becoming part of the campus scenery. One of these days you'll have to go to Brookland, and you'll get lost in the shuffle." While the good woman paused for breath, the girls went in a huddle to think up something to say, and in a few minutes the redoubtable Louise had a question-proof alibi. "Here's how it is," she explained. "We're very fond of Columbia, and sim ply have no desire to bum around over - the country. Only last week we heard of a couple of girls tearing off to Flori .da, all by themselves and for no good reason. Such doings are to be expected "f Tri Delts and stch trash, but we don't approve of things like that, and if you say any more about it I'll phone my paw to come and take me home." The outcome of the argument remains a secret, but the girls have not yet set Ourb S*wioe A Speofiiv WE SERVE BEER Pick-Wick 1240 Hampton Street R. C. A, VICTOR RADIO LATEST RECORDS R. E.
