Donald Sanders spent last week-end at his home in Spartan burg. J. M. Douglas LL.B. '13 of Winsboro spent several days with pals last week. T. C. Jolly and H. C. James .2spent last week end at their 'homes in Union. C D. S. Jones, LL.B. '16 who is now practicing law in Greenwood was on the campus last Tuesday. - Dr. Melton Clark of Charles ton, one of our alumni, conducted the devotional exercises at chapel last Friday morning. H. G. Mobley, C. E. '16, who has just returned from the Mexi can border visited the Univ rsity last Thursday. Gustavus K. Rich has left col lege and gone to Ohio to accept a position with a rubber manu facturing company. W. C. Mann of the senior class has returned to college after spending about two weeks at home on account of his eyes. Prof. Reed Smith and Cecil Brearley have returned from Lexington, Kentucky, where they attended the Laymens Mis sionary Convention. "Bubber" Langston o Darling ton, and Jim and Black Edmonds of Ridgeway, attended the Mid winter German last Tuesday night. W. C. Moore and W. F. Hen derson, of last year's class, who have been with the Field Hospital Corps on the Mexican border visited friends on the campus last week. Dr. Currell spoke to the Scran ton Schools on February 23 and addressed the Clarendon County Teachers Association at Manning on February 24. J. G. Waters attended the Stu (lent Volunteer Convention at Rock Hill last week. Winthrop was the host this year, the con vention lasting from Friday thru Sunday. H. D. Steadman of Inman has been called home on account of the illness of his sister. His many friends hope that her condition will improve rapidly and he can return to his work soon. It is very much regretted that thru misunderstanding Dr. A. N. Chandler who was to speak in chapel last Friday morning on the "Single Tax," did not arrive until after chapel hour. We hope to have the pleasure of hearing him at some fr,e. a. DANCE TENDERED TO MISS RICHARDSON Misses Rucker Honor Guest Front Greensboro One of the most enjoyable events of the week was a dance 1 given last Monday evening by Misses Elizabeth and Louise Rucker at the University Gym. in honor of their guest, Miss Lynn Richardson of Greensboro, North Carolina. The couples arrived at nine o'clock and anxiously await ed the begining of the music at nine-fifteen.Schumaker's orches tra was at its best, the musicians seemed to have caught the spirit of the evening and readily re sponded with many encores. The' dancing was enjoyed by all, and the hearts of many were saddened when the orchestra began "Home Sweet Home" at twelve-fifteen. Fruit punch was served through out the evening, and at eleven thirty a delicious eourse of block cream and cake. About thirty five couples were present. Lorick & Lowrance, Inc.
