Speaking of overhead expenses, how about the easter bonnets? J a In opposition to the high cost s of living, we notice that ladies' t clothes are still going up. s If you got into a quarrel with e a ''raging b)eauty'' would she be:9 justified if she called to her aid 9 a ''striking blond?''" Some claim that chapel is out I of (late and useless, but it has at~ n least been responsible for several t ten day vacations. 'I When you propose to a girl ask I her in rapid succession, Will you n marry me? Have you any ob-v jections? And you have her, t whatever the answer is. n BOOSTERS WANTED Now that we have the mphey or a new law building affd for he complete renovation of old Ie Saussure, let's try and do our art towards making the Univer ity one of greatest institutions f learning in the South. Start out by taking care of rhat we have. Treat the Uni-! ersity property as if it were our own. Handle the buildings s if they were your own home. ,eep the surrounding part of he campus as if it were your ront yard. We can not expect j be given things if we are not oing to take care of them. Talk up the University. Let eople know you are proud of it. incourage the legislators to con inue the improvements until all: f our dormitories are at least ihalitable. Boost to the young r +ellows who are to enter col age soon and help increase our ttendance. Keep your eyes pen for good athletes and not nly try to persuade them to be ome Gamecocks but put some ody else wise and let them help ou. Become a self-appointed dvertising agent and watch the Iniversity grow. WILL YOU BE THERE? How about going to the game >morrow night? Don't lose the Id "pep" and say "the game :on't be any good" just because he team had rather a disastrous oad trip. If there is anythingi hat disheartens a team it is the eeling that the side lines are ot behind them and have lost onfidence in them. The season as not been a failure. We will' iin a large percent of our games ith the cleanest athletics of any niversity in the South. It is hard D see state championship pros ects blasted so suddenly but be "game sport"-- show the old iamecock spirit-- come out and ee the last contest on the home ourt and watch those Fosteries et revenge. MATERIAL WANTED The editors of the Garnet and tlack report a shortage of origin I material. This is one of our tudent activities and should be he work of as great anumberof tudents as possible, and not of he editors alone. It is hard nough to get the material to ether, separated, and congre -ated into its proper form and lace. To add the writing, etc. the work of the editors is im osition. Let's get busy and lake the 1917 issue of our annual' nie best ever gotten out.
