SOUTH CAROLINA CONFERENCE .... The South Carolina conference is one of the largest in the state t? - " and the presiding- elders of this ? conference a?e Drs. R' I. Lemons, B. H..Gray and J.. B. Jennings. The ? conference was-set ,in motionnhy hi; -the Rev. D. J. Zeigler. PIEDMONT CONFER EN The Piedmont conference was ?? held at Clinton, Dr, E. G. F. Dent, preached the annual sermon which stirred the conference. Dr.- Dent / is the former president of Allen University and Kittrell college an? the only minister in?the statereported his conference budget in thrde months after he was assigned , , to Anderson by Bishop Reid. rr* Julius Holman, also preached a good missionary sermon Wednes-day nightr? The presiding elders of this conference are Drs. W. S. Misns, T. E. Robinson and C. G. Glover. Among the leading Ministers are Revs. E. William Jwkre, W. L. Hunter, Willie-J. Nelson, M. Code, W. M. Arthur Holmes was very good, especially ^ State College and Liberty Hill. ** The solos, duets, and what not were very good. Congratulation to the Rev. J. C. Murry, in his welcome reception. The mayor of St. Matthews and other white representatives stayed in the church until the doxolog'y. The principal of Ford High School and Prof. Ross of Guinyard Elementary School made us feel welcome along with others. The response to , these addresses by Dr. E. L. The dumbest person in Bethel understood what he was getting over. He certainly ma<le a hit in South Carolina. Dr. I. A.- Miller of Washington, preached the noon day sermon Friday and as usual stirred the conference. Dr. Dewey Robinson, c candidate for the bishop also addressed the conference and made good in his address. Dr. Fred , ?A Hughes preached the Sunday, conference sermon which was very good.
