GREENE, Master, Barnwell County. •Masters office, October 14, 1925. ■jsfel'" m ~ Plr fc, t . ) Several weeks ago, The People- Sentinel predicted that this section of the South would, sooner or later, come in for ita t share of real estate activity that has been attracting so many people and so much money to Florida. The time is coming sooner than we anticipated—in fact, it ap pears to be here now, judging from every day reports from Charleston on the one hand and Augusta on the .other. Many big real estate deals i have been put across in both cities in the past three weeks and new trans fers of property are being made every day at advancing prices. And this is just the beginning. The people of the North and West are rapidly reali sing the fact that the South, blessed as it is in the way of soil and climate and many other natural advantages, is the garden spot of this great coun try and- they are flocking to this sec tion by the hundreds. So far most of the interest has been in property to be used as summer and winter resorts, but the time .is not far distant when farm property will come in for its share of attention. When farmers from less favored sections learn that they can grow crops here the year round they will be quick to sell their holdings in less favored sections and buy “a place in the sun” in the Sunny South. When that time comes, look out for a big jump in the price of farm lands. Sales are not going to be confiend to tracts of land in and around Charles ton and Augusta. Everybody in the entire South is going to be benefitted in one way or another. We honestly believe that the dawn of a new era for this section is at hand. Whether or not we reap our share of the bene- fit* depends entirely on what we do to attract people here. The opportu nity ia waiting. Are we going to take advantage of it?
