Archie Sox bad turned his buck for a moment. .Accord ing to evidence Joe Watson also a convict, struck the gun from Mr. Sex's hand and Griffin then hit him over the head with a shovel which re sulted in the guard's death. Both Watson and Griffin escaped as did Mose Bryant, a third convict who thought it a rijw moment to get away. Griflfin was caught within a few days and also Mose Bryant. Joe Watson is sfiM at large. Mose Bryant was clear ed of participation in the crime and re turned to the gang.
