Tim cause of tho trouble is said. to Ih* of a domestic nature. The men ha<l had previous trouble at Lancaster, where they both resided. Davis went to Noble's house at Kershaw to talk to Mi's. Noble and was in company with the Chief of police at Kershaw. .Npble resented his calling at his house and threatened to kill him. The polb<e man was tn the act of getting Davis away when Noble fired into his -side, Davis dying a few minutes later,. Noble loft immediately carrying his gun with. him. but. later in the after iK,H>n went to Mr. J. C. Hilton at West vSlle and surrendered. Little is known of Davis, but he is said to have a Wife living in another state. Coroner Dixon held an inquest Saturday and Noble is being held on a charge of mur der. It was no wonder that large num bers of sorrowing friends from thin and adjoining counties attended her funeral, that beautiful flowers were placed upon her grave, that so many eyes grow dim as they attended the last sad rites of their loved one.
