Western York County Is Asked for $2,000.00. DECAUSE of the illness of Rev. J. L. Oates, it has devolved upon me to take the Chairmanship of the campaign for raising Western York County's share of South Carolina's $200,000 for the Relief of the starving Armenians, Greeks, Syrians, Jews and others of the Near East, which share amounts to $2,600. The time is exceedingly short, and proper organization is impossible; but nevertheless it is a solemn duty on the part of our people to raise this money. I have called upon every Pastor, Sunday School Teacher and Public School Teacher to assist in this work and I am satisfied that all are doing what they can in the limited time at their disposal. This is to advise every individual who desires to help in this work and who has not been or may not be directly solicited, to go at once to his or her Pastor, Sunday School Teacher or Public School Teacher, and make as liberal contribution as possible. All contributions that may be sent to JAMES A. BARRETT, Clover, will be added to the fund. I most urgently solicit the help of everybody who is willing to help and urge that this help be extended at oncc. W. T. BEAMGUARD, Chairman Near East Relief Fund for Western York County.
