The Immeose deposits of Phoapbatle Guanos which were discovered In 1867 In South Carolina, by Dr. PRATT, consists mainly oflnsoluble Phosphate or Lime, whleb is made available as a Fer tillser bj being ground to powder, ?nd reduced by Sulpburio Aeid to snob a condition na to make Ita insoluble phosphate s-luble in water, and th as made capable of being taken up by growing planU. The losoluble Phosphate found lu any commercial Fertiliser is of no mol? value to the plant than the original Pho.phate roek. The greater the proportion of this Soluble Phosphate which any Fertilisereontains, the less the quantity required per sore, and consequently the cheapest Fertiliser is that containing the highest per centage of 8oluble Pbospbat. .
