Two County Officers Short?Presented by Grand iury. j Columbia, Dec. 3.?That the two re- j cent occupant9 of the office of county treasurer and present supervisor were short, and their shortages have not been collected nor any prosecutions instituted, and that the office of probate judge is u?ed as a public restaurant, are the charges made in the recent presentment of the Eerkeley grand jury. An fhia TirAepntm^nf-, .Tnrlcrp Aldrioh passed orders requiring the two extreasurers and the supervisor to show why their bonds should not be escheated, and requiring the clerk of i | the court to see to i; that the probate judge's office is not used as a i restaurant. Copies of the presentment were ordered sent to the governor, the comptroller general and the j attorney general. I It will be recalled that about one year ago Comptroller General Jones | reported to the governor delinqueni cies on the part of the treasurer and auditor of Berkeley county, and on, | this report Gov. Ansel removed from office treasurer J. 0. Edwards and auditor C. N. M. Wiggins; T. S. Browning was appointed treasurer. The senate approved the. removal of Edwards, but refused to approve the governor's action in the case of the auditor, and Mr. Wiggins held his office and was this summer renomi nated without opposition. Plenty of evidence to prove tys. M. M. Graham, Newberry,. JSlc., says: "I used Doan's Kidr.eyTills and they did me so much good that I do not hesitate to endorse them. My back pained me for a long time, particularly at night and many times I have been unable to sleep on account of the misery. The pain seated itself right across the small of my back and through my loins and made it impossible for me to assume any position that was comfortable. The kidney secretions contained much sediment and were so frequent in action that I would have to rise several times at night. The various remedies I used proved of no avail and I had auuuu given up uuur ui\cvu ucjug cured when I heard of Doan's Kidney Pills. I got a box and decided to try them, although I thought they would prove just as worthless as everything else I had previously taken. I was agreeably surprised, however, as they went directly to the cause of my trouble and brought about a cure. I have had no annoyance from my kidneys since and believe that the full credit is due to Doan's Kidney Pills." For sale by all dealers. Price 50 cents.
