There were present at the meeting Lieutenant Gove. :or Tillman, Mr. B. O. Patterson and State Treasurer Jennings. Dantzler, the cornfield candidate from Orangeburg, made the usual protest against declaring Mr. Lever elected, was represented by Morer, the negro lawyer of Orangeburg, whose legal knowledge and arguments are not so extensive and well taken as to deserve a serious consideration, and his case went like Prioleau's and Mr. Lever was declared elected. Mr. Moss was present to elect Mr. Lever, and Mr. Efird, of Lexington, was also his attorney, but it was not considered necessary that both, or even one of them, should be present. RiBer and Miss Jessie Summer were married at noon yesterday, at the residence of the bride's parents, on College street Immediately after the ceremony was performed the couple left for a visit to Mr. Riser's parents io Saluda county. It was a quiet home mar riage, attended by a few relatives and intimate friends. Tne bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John A. Summer, and is an accomplished and popular young lady. She is a graduate of Newberry College in the class of 1901. Mr. Riser is a Lutheran minister, and is at present serving a charge in Lex- 1 ingfcon county.
