Mr. Lever has many friends here and his visits are always pleasant to his many friends. This order always has its annual Thanksgiving sermon preached and last Sunday, being the regular set time, the membership marched in a body to Southside Baptist church, where the Rev. FAuson preached a most excellent sermon to them. The members of Sin Clair Lodge, A. F M. No. 154, recently moved thf-ir lndpe room from Sin Clair. S C, to Brookland, at which place the building is speedily being erected. This will be a beautiful frame shingle roof building and when completed will be an ornament to the town. P. J. Wes3lnger is erecting a large two-story building on his lot on West Meeting street. This building will be very handsome when completed. Indeed, it can be said that some one is building cottages here very near every day during the year. The building boom has struck the town and the citizens are buying lots and building all the time. Too much could not be said about the schools here, good and efficient work is being done. In addition to the public school here under the principalship of Prof. Wilson, ably assisted by Misses Fowler and Crepps. There are two private schools.
