SENATE COMMITTEE CALJLS ON PRES1DEN1 At 2:80 P. M. last Friday the spe cial Senate Committee, consisting oi I .Senators Fall and Hitchcock, was ad i .itted to President Wilson's room in ( the White House and had a forty, jj live minute discussion with the Prcsijj dent on the critical Mexican stuation, v the only interruption to the confe ' rence occuring when Admiral Grayson, the President's private physician, J, entered the room and announced that Consular Agent Jenkins had been released from imprisonment by the Mixicnn nuthorit.ii'S. During the conference the President was in bed, propped by pillows, and Mrs. Wilson was in the room. While the conference was arranged particularly for the purpose of getting the President's views as to what action should be taken by the Senate regarding the Mexican situation, the Interest of the Senate and in fact of the whole country centered on the conference principally because of the fact that it furnished the first opportunity which has been afforded Congress and the public to judge as to the accuracy of the many rumors which have recently been current regarding the President's alleged physical and mental inability to perform the duties of his office. Since both of the Senators announced, after the conference, that the President's mind is clear and that he is apparently fully able to handle the Mexican problem, the situation which has been causing so much anxiety and perplexity during the last nine weeks 01 more of the President's illness, has bi en greatly clarified. No doubt it will still be some time before the President is strong enough to shoulder all of the burdens of his office, but it will be a r I g Those W for something a little dillY EXCLUSIVE, will find it 1> Our FURNITURE gi city air, which is hard to stores.
