BERED "OF FEELING BEFORE." < ?^ SHE HAD ABOUT LOST HOPE / Advict CWra by Her Pastor's Wife Led to a Wonderful Change in The Life of Mrs. McManus. \ "The reason I put so much faith in Tanlac was because I had taken so many medicines and they helped me only while I was taking them, but Tanlae not only helped me when I wm* taking it, but its benefits have prwed lasting," said Mrs. S. A. McManus, of 207 Second St., Olympia, a J suburb of Columbia, in a statement' she gave in endorsement of Tanla6. I "When I quit taking Tanlac, I really felt better than I vere remember of feeling before. Tanlac is the only medicine I ever took that helped my indigestion and nervous troubles. "I suffered particularly from nervous indigestion, and my system was badly run down. I had worried myself almost to death over my troubles, and that made my condition all the worse. I suffered a lot with headaches and I could not eat anything. I Buffered so much with my head that I was almost crazy at times with the pain. My nerves were in such bad shape that if anyone knocked unexpectedly at the door, it would fly all over me ?nd I would tremble all over and feel like I was freezing, for my nerves were a complete wreck. "My husband lost a lot of time from work because he had to stay at home and work around the house when I was sick in bed. I never felt well, but I just dragged around the house and did my work the best I could when I was not in bed. I never was reallv able to do mv housework. though. "I never have been healthy and I have been doctored all my life, but I continued to suffer and gradually grew worse, until I had about lost hope of ever feeling well again. "Then one day my pastor's wife came to visit me, for I was on the 'sick list/ and she urged me to try Tanlac. I knew it would be well to do so if my pastor's wife told me to, so my husband bought me a bottle. And now I can truthfully say that Tanlac is the only medicine I have ever taken that has helped me, and Tanlac broke up my stomach troubles, even if I had suffered badly for three years and had suffered less severely for Ave or six years. Tanlac, too, is the only medicine that ever helped my indigestion and nervous troubles, and these, troubles, the doctors told me, were the cause of all my bad health. "The Tanlac gave me a fine appetite, increased my strength and made me able to do my housework. I feel fine now and am not bothered with my nerves. I do not have headaches and my stomach is in fine shape. Tanlac is the best medicine I have ever i.l 1 i a?" ? . uikch, uuu nunureai 01 nonars nave ' been spent trying to break \jp my troubles." Range: Breeds In the United States ' (west to Arizona, Colorado, Wyoming, and Montana), southern Canada, Mexico, and Guatemala; winters In the southern half of tho eastern United States and south to Guatemala. Habits and economic status: The bluebird Is one of tho most familiar tenants of tho farm and dooryard. Everywhere It lg hailed as the harbinger of spring, and wherever It chooses to roslde It is sure of a warm welcome. This bird, like the robin, phoebe, houso wron, and some swallows, Is very domestic In its habits. Its favorite nostlne sites are rrnnnlen In the farm buildings or boxes made for Its use or natural cavities In old apple trees. For rent the bird pays amply by destroying Insects, and It takes no toll from the farm crop. The bluebird's diet consists of 68 per cent of Insects to 32 per cent of vegetable matter. The largest Items of Insect food are grasshoppers first and beetles next, while caterpillars stand third. All of these are harmful except a few of the beetles. The vegetable food consists chiefly of fruit pulp, only an Insignificant portion of which Is of cultivated varieties^ Among wild fruits elderberries are the favorite. From the above It will be seen that the bluebird does no essential harm, but on the contrary eats many harmful and annoying insects. PURPLE MARTIN (ProgBt ublt) / ^EBB 4 Length, about eight inches. Range: Breeds throughout the United States and southern Canada, south to central Mexico; winters in South America. Habits and economic status: This Is the largest as it is one of the most beautiful of tho swallow tribe. It formerly built its nests in cavities of trees, as It still docs in wild districts, but learning that man was a friend it soon adopted domestic habits. iin |/i rorm.u nwuui mu laim run yueii be socured by erecting houses suitable for nesting sites and protecting them from usurpation by the English sparrow, and every effort should be made to increase the number of colonies of this very useful bird. The boxes should be at a reasonable height, say 15 feet from the ground, and made Inaccessible to cats. A colony of these birds on a farm makes great inroads upon the insect population, as the birds not only themselves feed upon Insects but rear their young upon the same diet. Fifty years ago in New England It was not uncommon to see colonics of 60 pairs of martins, but most of them have now vanished for no apparent reason except that the martin houses have decayed and have not been renewed. More than three-fourths of this bird's food consists of wasps, bugs, and beetles, their Importance being in the order given. The beetles Include several species of harmful weevils, as the clover-leaf Weevils and the nut weevils, llesldes these are many crane flies, moths, May flies, and dragonflies. He was a child of unusual brighi ness and ever caried with him tin spirit of cheerfulness and affectio that made him one of the brighter lights in the home circle. He will be greatly missed from th Sunday school class of which he wc a member. He was very attentive t the teaching of the lesson by h teacher.
