Elmore, and ' family. < JACK HIV ivK?> LAID AO REST jack Rivera died Monday, August 18, ia41, alter an illness of only a few hours. He was very devoted to Tiis family and during his lifetime made many friends. He never refused to help a good cause or a needy friend and will long be remembered by them. The funeral service was held Thursday, August 21, 1941, at Union?Baptist church and the church was filled to capacity. Rev. L. C. Jenkins officiated. Interment was at Pine Ridge cemetery under a mound of many beautiful flowers. Surviving are, Mrs. Rose Davis, mother; Mrs^-Louise Rivers, wtife; and Dorothy Rivers, daughter. in charge;? YV'INNSBORO NEWS The camp meeting just aboht gavt, the churches of our town a holiday last Sunday. Some of the pastors left the one and went out in search.for the ninety-hndnine. The shocking report of the day was that of Mr. Joe. Young, 80, a well known and law-abidipg citizen of , our town, who departed this life tit his home at 8 a.m. He had ben in bad health for several years but his bed had claimed him for a little more than a year. He was funeralized at Shady Grove A. M. E. church August 26 at 12 o'clock M. amid a "large and bereaved crowd. He was for years" a consistent member io"~t said church. He bore his sickness With the patience of Job. He leaves a loving wife, 3 children, Eliott, here, Willie at Rock Hill and Mrs. Estelle who stayed at nis bedside and allowed him to want for nothing. He ldaves also other relatives and friends who mourn his loss. Peace to his ashes. Mrs. Lynn and 2 children from Newark, N. J., are spending their vacation with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Woodard 011 College St. here.
