EMPLOYMENT SERVICE REPORTS 163% GAIN A gain of 163.1 per cent in Jot found by the State Employment Service in June of last year was reported today by the South Carolina Unemployment Compensation Commission. To be exact, last month the Ser vice made 7,691 placements as compared-tx>?2,923 in the corresponding month of 1940. During the first Bix months of this year, the Employment Service made a total of 44,837 placements. Since March the Employment Sei^ice has conducted an extensive Labor - Registration Program in urging al unemployed persons, and all persons having defense skills not being used in their pres ent jobs, to register at their lo:al office.
