Saturday, September 19, 1936. MT. ZION A. M. E. CHURCH Rev. B. L. Guiles, Pastor , Wan^pee( S. C. The Sunday school opened at the usual hour, < with the Supt., Robt. Cause fct his post, also the Asst., Mrs. Lulla Bellamy who opened the school. The lesson was beautitully taught by Miss Lucile Guiles anu explained by, Prof. N. S. Rogers. We were glad to have some vis* iting friends from other churches in our school. Sunday being Communion day and rally day, we had quite a few out to witness the services. Mrs. Vought and Mrs.- Estelia Bellamy Eerved the Communion. The rally was also fine. The women are still a' head of the men. I am afraid the men will have to give the women that banquet. After service the paster, Kev. ' Guiles went over the Little River Neck churph to finish up his rally, from there to St. Paul. All of the churches did fine for the rally. The Busy Bee club met at the home of Miss Rosa Lee Vought Sunday afternoon, with Miss Lucile Guiles acting president until the President, Miss Celia Gause came. They reported a wonderful mveung, A grand birthday party was given in honor ofl Mr. Herbert Gause and daughter, Sunday evening. Mr. and Mrs. S. P. Louis \vbs the Sunday afternoon guest of Brs. B. Guji.es. Mrs. Luberta McFadden and children and sister, Leona Bryant visited their friends Sunday evening. * Mrs. E. Bellaqiy, class leader . . No. 1 of St. Paul A. M. E. church raised $10.00 in the rally on her V' class. Mr. and Mrs. A. D. Vought and son, Joseph and wife, Estella hiotored to Charlotte, N. C. Sunday after service to visit Mrs. ? We have just closed a very successful ten nights revival meeting. Five souls were added to the church for Baptism, This meeting was conducted by the R*'v. Eddie Davis, Orangeburg and v",,n" cy-ni'lra nf Columbia. Rev. Davis be.ing guest speaker. Excellent sermons were preached each night. These?sermons were master= -JUL hearers enjoyed them spiritually and intellectually. Rev. Davis was voted back to conduct the meeting for 1937. At morning service the pastor preached from Joshua 3rd chapter subject/Jm^ian and Canaan". At evening'Hrnd night services Rev. Starks prerffched from these subjects: "Life's Highway'' taken from the book of Isaiah and "Wasted Opportunity" Luke 15th chapter. Rev. Young concluded the meeting his texts were found II Cor. 5-10, subject "We Must All Stand Before the Judgement Seat". On TVesday nigh,t "The Woman at the Well". Wednesday he preached from St. John 11. These sermons were enjoyed by I the depths of his heart. We were too glad to have the following guests from Columbia: Rev. and Mrs. Downs, Rev. and Mrs. F. M.
