W. Talley, Librarian. ST. PHILIPS REFORMED EPISCOPAL CHURCH i Bonneau, S. C.-r-The best schools are usualfy those which the pastor i understands best and serves most intelligently. The need of the present ~ is pastors who will appreciate the school and will realize that from the schools comes the church, that the school is making Christians during _ the only time of life in which any . large numbers are made, who understands that it is better to' keep one young life with its unused stars ' of usefulness for the Kingdom "than to j Win back many worn out lives. The seminaries are today training pas tors who know these things and "who* 4 understands the educational principles of the modern school. If -the pastor appears indifferent to the ' school, let some one quietly make him ' -a-gift of a book or books that will- J quicken his appreciation of its principles. Let others sertd him to the ! meat conventions when; such things discussed. Let him be brought by--' _-very means into close toulh with the 1 present widespread and mikjity move^ 1 ment for moderns effectivfe religious ^ education, that he may give^his best service to the school. It i^ not often necessary that the pastor be given a class regularly, < neither i& it wise for him to become the superin- 1 iendent. His is the wider work of watching, inspiring, teaching others; being indeed pastor of the school. AIKEN NEWS Cumberland A. M. E.
