The morning discourse, the subject of which was; "Nearness to Christ," \vs delivered by the pastor, Rev. W. F. Rice. The sermon proved very forceful and interestihg. The evamil^Jjjiessage was brought by_ Rev. * I. S. Reid of Laurens, wl^Ose subject was: "Continuance in Christ's Word, A Mark of True Discipleship." Despite a limited audience, -R.ev. Reid iftade a very powerful and thrilling address. Fine^music was furnished by the choir. A very profound and , touching Sunday School lesson was > enioved bv well over one hundred " pupils. The review was conducted by the pastor. The Baby Contest which* was given by the U. J. Cbppih Missionafy Society at the 'Church Munday night, proved Successful. In addition to raising over $40,011, a lively program was rendered by the'Junior Choir. First prize was won by little Eloise Thompson and the second by ' little Roscde Mayes. s Other prizes offered tq. the Junior Oirls were won by Misses Susie mvens, "Rate R.
