It is in our English blood to deride all expression of noble sentiment. You may blaspheme in the street, and staler drunken in public places, and the by-standers will not pay much attention to you; hut if you eret down on your knees in the street and pray to Almighty God, if you should stand t bareheaded while a company of old y ? ' soldiers marched by with their flav: to the breeze some people will think you are snowing oil. But don't you mind! When Old Glory comes along, salute, and let them think what they please! When you hear the hand play "The Star Spangled Banner," while you are in a restaurant or hotel dining room, get up, even if you rise alone; stand there, and don't be ashamed of it, either! The flag is the cream of all religions, the concentrated essence of the best impulses of the human race. Reverence it as you would reverence the signature of the Deity.?I)r. Frank Crane. Says Phosphates Make Beautiful Women and Strong, Healthy, Vigorous, Robust Men. 3hysicians all over the world are prescribing phosphates to build up run down down enemic conditions and those who have treated their patients with Argo-Phosnhate are changing thin, enemic women with toneless tissues, flabby flesh, into the most beautiful rosy cheeked and plump round formed women imaginable. Atlanta, Ga. Dr. Jacobson said in a ecent interview that 90 per cent, of snemia comes from nervous breaklown which can only be corrected by iupplying the necessary phosphates to he nervous system that is lacking in he food you eat, and this can be quicky supplied by taking one or two 5crain Argo-Phosphate tablets after ;ach meal, and at bed time. It will in nany cases make a pale scrawny face he picture of health in a few days. I ive seen women that I expected would lave to be kept under treatment for nonths restored to perfect health in ?ne or two weeks' time. SPECIAL NOTICE. The Argo^osphate recommended by Dr. F. H. racobson contains phosphates such as ire prescribed by leading physicians hroughout the world, and it will be , ound the most effective form for reating patients with Nervous Dysiepsia, Stomach troubles, Brain Fag, nd Nervous Prostration. It will reew youthful vim and vigor, and uild up the whole body. If your drugist will not supply you with Argo'hosphate, send $1.00 for two weeks' reatment, to Argo Laboratories, 10 'orsyth St.. For adulta and children. 60e LOCKHART JUNCTION Lockhart Junction, Aug. 27.?Th? summer months have passed, lacking a few days from this date, and this morning is a little cool, feeling verj much like fall season is coming early This kind of weather will mature th< fcotton, make it quit growing, whil< (in some places it has already quit ant is spedding on account of rain. This writer met Mr. James White head of the West Springs section anc he says they are very dry over there needing rain very bad. Mr. Whitehead is visiting relatives near Kelly I see the cotton market has gont down some, like I prophesied some time ago it would. Some speculative scheme, I said thing would occur tc make prices go down, but isn't it a shame if it does, and everything keeps up. Everybody who had to buy and there is very few that didn't have to buy more or less corn, flour, bacon, everything in the way of feed stufl this year. I know some men had to buy corn this year that never had to before and they pair an enormous price, just twice what it ought to have been. Now to make things look right and make it easy should not the farmer realize a higher price for his cotton than he has ever before? Talk about regulating prices of things, if congress can or will regulate price of things they should fix cotton a standard price. There is no need of cotton going lower than 2.ri cents a pound at this time, but we see it has gone below that. God save the world, for there are men today betting on when the war will end. My! Mu! People, are there not men that would bet on the time when the world will come to an end. We see most anything taking place these days. Well, we are up apainst the war and the people of America will fiprht to a finish. There is more preparation now for war in the United States than ever there has been before. I am like Telephone said in his last, letter, how can a nation like Germany whip the world and they can't when all the forces of the United States pet ready and stands as one preat army. Ijet us stand by the Stars and Stripes, the Star Spanpleo Banner of the red, white and blue There is as many noble sons of America that will stand by that flap thai our forefathers foupht and died foi and America has today some as true sons as there was then, who stanc ready for the call of President Wilson as they did when they follower Washinpton in his time, one who was instrumental in helpinp to plan foi our independence and freedom. II seems to me that President Wilson is an inspired man; he did all he coulc to keep the United States out of war as I see it, and there is no blame 01 him as some mipht want to make it so Did you not hear Mr. Sam Nicholls speech at Union? He said that the United States did not declare war or Germany. They declared war on the United States, if I see it, they were fiirhtinp the United States before we knew it. Those who are not for the United States is apainst her and oui liberty and freedom. Mr. anel Mrs. W. P. Leister ol Jonesville and Mr. W. A. Martin o1 Mosberry, N. C., and Mrs. W.
