Miss Johnson is one of Jonesville's most popular and attractive young women, who has many friends who wish her much happiness. The groom is pleasantly remembered here as having held a position as section foreman here for the Southern railway. He now holds a similar position at Old Fort, N. C. The colored men of this community are talking like enlisting in the United States army to fight Germany. If they enlist they will make good soldiers. t A United States flag was hoisted over the armory building here on Good Friday and it now floats to the breezes. Our company of Coast Artillery here are looking for orders every day to get ready to go to the war. Their destination will be Fort Moultrie. Mr. Paul J. Free spent Sunday at Seneca. Mr. B. W. Whitlock spent Sunday evening in Jonesville with W. II. S. Harris. The new Easter hats and dresses had a hard time of it Sunday and many of them had to stay in doors. The congregations were small at the churches. The Easter music that was prepared was rendered and the decorations were pretty, although flowers are very scarce in the community. Ahout a hundred bales of cotton were hold in this community last week at 20 cents the pound. Mr. Davis Crawford of Colombia visited his mother here last week. The women of the Methodist church will have a rummage sale next Friday. There is to he a mass meeting of the people of Jonesville Tuesday night, the 10th. The meeting is principally to give the soldiers, the company, of ("oast Artillery, a reception as they :ire expected to get orders to leave for Fort Moultrie this week. Miss Sallie Cunningham, who has been teaching the Mabry school near Jonesville, has closed her school fo; this session.
