Elias Prioleau Sinkler. of Eutawville are the quests of Mr. and Mrs. Elias Prioleau on E. Main street. Mrs. Emma Lipford of Jonesville was called to Cross Hill last week on account of the death of her uncle, Mr. R. S. Griffin of that place. Misses Elizabeth Cobb and Gloria Haltiwanper, who have been the puests of Mrs. Emslie Nicholson, have returned to their home in Greenwood. Mr. E. W. Stone, who has been very sick for several weeks, is able to be out apain, which is very gratifying to his many friends here and throughout the county. Mr. and Mrs. S. E. Maxwell, who have recently moved to Union from Columbia have apartments at the home of Dr. George T. Keller on I Mountain street. Mrs. Li. B. Jeter, Sr., of Santuc, and Messrs. Maxcey and Ha nmie Crosby attended the funeral of their brother, Mr. V. E. Crosby, in Darlington on Sunday afternoon. ivir. j. v. wix of Carlisle returned last week from Pryor's hospital, where he went for an operation for appendicitis. He is rapidly regaining his strength. Among the Union folk attending the Paderewski concert in Spartanburg* Monday were Misses Maude and Elizabeth Garner, Beatrice Wilburn, Nell Pollard and Louise Pureell, Mrs. Lemmond and Miss Elizabeth Lemmond. Mrs. T. C. Duncan left Tuesday for Columbia to visit friends for several days. She attended the reception given by the Equal Suffrage League to the mejjibers of the legislature on Tuesday evening and heard Paderewski on Thursday evening at the Columbia theatre.
