It is interesting to observe bow languid and unable to attend school a girl becomes when she lias an unfinished library book concealed about her room some place. It strains a girl's delicate eyes a whole lot more to tlnrn her hosiery than it does to read the latest novel. To n man up a tree things are apt to look wet, for the average man doCkn't climb a tree except In a case of high water. Many u bumptious young man lias become Inine as a barnyard fowl after marrying a small red headed woman. """" One reason why a man looks better in a cheap photograph Is that It Is easier for him to look pleasant while thinking of what it will cost him. * It would be easier for some men to take a joke if it bud a market value. The reason some women want to vote Is liecause they can't. f4 . fcHI A clever woman manages to spring her iiYlllluery bill at the psychological nionieut her husband has selected for paying his election bet. It Is no "wonder that a girl believes everything that a young man tells her, for he generally believes It himself. When he comes tooting down the street Upon his little horn You'll hear a scurrying of feet, As sure as you arc born. The children gather very soon And gaz? with longing eyes Upon the red or blue balloon That's floating toward the skies. He really has a charming lot Of toy balloons to sell; Each son and daughter to the spot Is chained as with a spell. His horn toots out a tuneless tune; They gaxe with longing eyes Each at a red or blue balloon, A muchly wanted prize: They sway and sway upon tho breeze And bob and nod In joy; They seem to say, "Come, buy me, please. You little girl or boy." Tho children laugh and softly croon And gaze with longing eyes Upon a red or blue balloon Betwixt them and the skies. At last the vender turns away And moves off down the street, And then the children In dismay Speed home with flying feet. There they their parents Importune With little pleading eyes To buy a red or blue balloon To float up toward tho skies. Had Later Information. "Nnnio some of the dead languages, Willie." But Mr. Microbe lays him low Without remorse or haste. He dances like a circus pup To see Goliath double up. He skips about from pluce to place. With victims everywhere: He leads poor man a n?"rry race And drives him to despair. Just when you think he Is afar Ho hits you a most playful Jar. If we could meet him face to face We would thnt germ advise To let alone the human race And take one of his size. We arc not stringing; It's a cinch That he'll hump up against Judge Lynch.
