Esq., on t'lie Sth day of June last, this court* lost an oflicer that had lieen otlicially connected with it for more than l'orty-live years. First as the clerk for sixteen years, and tlie Utlance of the time as a member of the bar. In early life he was elected clerk and diligently sought to make himself familiar with all the details of this olliee, and a strong sense of duty governed his official conduct throughout his long incumbency. During the sessions of the court his familiarity with the duties of the oflice and their ctlicient discharge, was conspicuously displayed, and so satisfied were the i>eoplc with his methods, that he was continued in olliee as long as he desired to hold it.
