JUDGE M KM MIX G E H HANDS DOWN OPINION KXOXKKAT IXG CLARK, JONES AND BRYAN. Infamous Got Rich Quick Insurance Swindlo Finally Disposed of by Court and the Victims arc Advised in so Many Words to Grin and Bear It. Columbia, Feb. l?.?The notcrious and infamous Semtnole ?et rich quick insurance /windle was brought,to a final conclusion yesterday when Judge Memmlnger filed his decision in the case. He discharges the complaint brought by certain stockholders ol the Seminole Securities company against the company, John ^. Gur lington. J. S. Young, WUte Jones, W. A Cia. k and T. S. Bryan et al. In an effort to hohl Messrs. Jones, Clark land Bryan, trustees of the company, '.jointly and individually liable for the j I losses sustained by the stockholders' I in the failure of the Seminole Secu-; ritics company and its subsidiary, the I Southern Life Insurance company. The case was heard by Judge Mem-, , minger In Columbia, December l r>. lSU.'l. His opinion was handed down February 12. He discussed the testi? mony offered by the plaintiffs and I concludes that Wille Jones. W. A. ; Clark and T. S. Bryan, trustees of ! the Seminole, were not grossly cure? less In agreeing to the purchase of the Southern Life Insurance com? pany. The court also held that, though the plaintiffs contended that many stockholder had been induced to take stock on the representation that the three prominent Columbians named in the suit were to have super? vision of the affairs of the company, yet many persons who subscribed to its stock did not know Messrs. Jones, Clark and Bryan, and were doubtless influenced to purchase on account of the fact that men prominent In their Several communities hud been in? duced to buy by the agents. PLEASED WITH OUTLOOK.
