On the following pages we have listed prices on Ladies9 and Gents' clothing, shoes, hats; Ladies' and Gents' furnishings, Misses, Boys' and Children's clothing, shoes, etc., and we defy competition in prices, from not only the merchants of Sumter, but any lucrchant in the State of South Carolina, and we cheerfully challenge comparison with our prices and mer? chandise. Read the following pages and you will wonder how we can sell goods at such prices and still make money. J From the first advertisement we published in Sumter, we made it our motto to advertise truthfully and not to advertise at all unless we had gen? uine bargains to back up the Ad. That's why often it doesn't take us thirty minutes after the paper is is? sued to get results from an adver? tisement. That's why we say we are the store that "TELLS?AND SELLS" because the people of Sumter and surrounding counties have come to know that when they seen an Ad from the Wreck Store it is bound to Hash a money-saving message. Talk about confidence, we have many and many a customer to come into our srore, look at merchandise, tell us to wrap the goods up without finding out what the goods cost until they reach the cashier's desk, because they know that the Wreck Store says its so it's bound to be so. They know that if they take the goods home, and fnd they hcven't selected just what suits them best, we cheerfully ex? change th*e goods, or give them their money back without any "ifs, ands, or nuts." There has been no change in this policy, as just outlined, from the very day the Wreck Store opened its doors up to the present time, nor I will there be any change, although^ there are a few of our competitors, who are still saying we are not stiictly on the level, because we se'l goods just a little cheaper than they do. But amongst our friends and j customers, and a customer of ours is j bound to be our friend, we find them boosting and talking for "their More," the Wreck Store. Ever since , that "Have You Got Common Sense" Ad published last year when the Wreck Store first opened its doors, persons with common sense are be? coming more convinced every day that the Wreck Store can live up to every promise they make. As our main idea in this business to make money out of it, we find tho best policy to get it is to give every? body a square deal, which means * ? absolutely pleasing each individual customer. Our clerks are not in? structed to just go out and get the money, but are told to please the cus? tomer first, last and all the time, and the money will take care of itself. We believe we have the right Mm j in doing business, because we do it in just a little different way?a way j that has always proven satisfactory to everyone who has e er had deal'ngs with us.
