Demands that Powers Move Imme diately on Pain of Trouble. Berlin, April 24.??Austria-Hnugary telegraphed to all other powers yes terday demanding that th*y send an ultimatum to Montenegro to evacuate Scutari within 4S hours, according to an unconfirmed dispatch from Vienna to the Zeitung Am-Mittag. Otherwise Austria declares she and hei aiu?s will take steps to protect her political interest-. PEAK It HOI'KAN WAR. Well Informed People in Rome Think There Is Danger. Rome, April 24.? Active communi? cation between Rome and Vienna over Si utari is going uni \in\\ ami Austria Hungary being directly interestd in the question of Albania's future. Aus? lrla-lfttngary is determined to act ahme, it appears, if she is not backed up by the other powers In obtaining the evacuation of Scutari by the Mon? tenegrins and a European conflagra? tion will almost certainly be tie- re? sult of such action, according to well informed opinion here. Efforts of Italy, therefore, are di? rected at preventing the isolation of Austria-Hungary and convincing Mon? tenegro of the necessity of complying with the decision of the conference of European ambassados In London. Representatives have been made to Montenegro, it became known here today, In which the attention of the Cettinje government is called to the fact that all the Balkan states have bowed to the decision of the powers, inspired by the supreme interests of Europe. Bulagria, it was pointed out, had renounced its decision to continue the movement of her army towards Con? stantinople; Servia had given up the seaport of Durasza; Greece had ap stained from permanently occupying the town of aVlona and Montenegro must evacuate Rc utari. Buch ;i move on the part of Montenegro, it is considered here, would not imply any loss of dignity after her occu? pation of the city. If the European powers recede in the, matter of Scutari it Is affirmed, the other Balkan states also would have the right to realise their aspirations Italy, according to close followers of the Balkan situation, was ready to have war rather than to allow Greece to o< eupy Valona and Austria also would rather go to war than allow a change in the boundary of northern Albania as arranged by the London ambassadorial conference. Conse? quently the Cettinje government, t i" understood, has been told it would be Impossible to allow a European i onllagration simply to ph ase Mon t: negro. CKTTIXJK M \Y YIKLD.
