Such posted notice and the entry thereof in the classification list constitutes notice to the registrant, who should keep himself informed regarding the action of the local board with respect to himself. Failure to receive notice or Quectionnaire will not excuse the registrant from performing any duty within the time limit, nor shall it be within itself ground for the extension of time. The questionnaire mailed to each registrant must be, with all ques- j tions answered and sworn to in strict accordance with the rules and regu iations, niea witn tne locai ooaru on or before the seventh day after the! date of mailing the Questionnaire to such registrant. Failure to receive , the Questionnaire will not excuse! the registrant from responding with- j in the time limit. He should, after receiving his Questionnaire, immediately observe the following suggestions: 1. Read the entire Questionnaire, including the "Important Notice to Registrants and Other Interested Persons" and should then reread the same until he is thoroughly familiar with the notice and instructions. 2. Having done this, he should then provide himself with all information required by the numerous questions. 3. If he is unable to read or does not understand any of the duties required of him, be should immediately seek some competent person to assist him. 4. He should remember that all claims for deferred classification on the ground of dependents must be supported by the affidavits of each dependent over the age of sixteen years. 5. Claims for deferred classification on account of industrial or agricultural occupations must be supported by the necessary affidavits prescribed in the regulations and set forth in the Questionnaire. This is especially important and requires close study by the registrant. 6. If the registrant is not fully satisfied that he can properly prepare the Questionnaire, he should immediately consult the legal advisory board at the county court house. The latest case is that of a lieutenant of the medical reserve, who was convicted of drinking with enlisted men and disgracing the military service by being intoxicated while in uniform.
