each registrant within twenty days
from December 15, and on the date
of such mailing a notice thereof,
Form 1002, will be posted in the office
of the Local Board. Such posted
notice and the entry thereof in
the classification list constitutes
notice to the registrant, who should
keep himself informed regarding
the action of the local board with
respect to himself. Failure to receive
notice or Quectionnaire will
not excuse the registrant from performing
any duty within the time
limit, nor shall it be within itself
ground for the extension of time.
The questionnaire mailed to each
registrant must be, with all ques- j
tions answered and sworn to in strict
accordance with the rules and regu
iations, niea witn tne locai ooaru on
or before the seventh day after the!
date of mailing the Questionnaire to
such registrant. Failure to receive ,
the Questionnaire will not excuse!
the registrant from responding with- j
in the time limit. Questionnaires,
will be mailed to approximately i
2400 registrants in Williamsburg \
county. Beginning December 15
and commencing with Order No 1,
approximately 125 Questionnaires
will be mailed daily until the entire
number (2400) have been mailed.
Each registrant should know his
order number and should be able,
therefore, to calculate the approxi

his Questionnaire at the earliest possible
date. He should, after receiving
his Questionnaire, immediately
observe the following suggestions:
1. Read the entire Questionnaire,
including the "Important Notice to
Registrants and Other Interested
Persons" and should then reread the
same until he is thoroughly familiar
with the notice and instructions.
2. Having done this, he should
then provide himself with all information
required by the numerous
questions.
3. If he is unable to read or does
not understand any of the duties required
of him, be should immediately
seek some competent person to
assist him.
4. He should remember that all
claims for deferred classification on
the ground of dependents must be
supported by the affidavits of each
dependent over the age of sixteen
years.
5. Claims for deferred classification
on account of industrial or agricultural
occupations must be supported
by the necessary affidavits
prescribed in the regulations and set
forth in the Questionnaire. This is
especially important and requires
close study by the registrant.
6. If the registrant is not fully
satisfied that he can properly prepare
the Questionnaire, he should
immediately consult the legal advisory
board at the county court
house. Erasures and mutilation of
the Questionnaire will not be permitted.
The Legal Advisory Board
has been constituted and holds it
imsburg County.

\ Officers
Must Keep Sober
From several recent trials by court
marshal, it is evident that sobriety
and proper conduct on the part of
officers will be insisted upon at all
times. The latest case is that of a
lieutenant of the medical reserve,
who was convicted of drinking with
enlisted men and disgracing the military
service by being intoxicated
while in uniform. The lieutenant has
been dismissed from the army and
sent back to the United States under
guard.
