"Bitter attacks have been made upon me as i an Austrian and because at the out; break of the war I fought as an ofi ficer in the Austrian army on the 1 Russian front," said a statement issued by Mr Kreisler. "I have been criticised for fulfilling engagements under contracts made long ago. I, therefore, am asking a]) concerned to release me from my obligations under existing conditions.
