A 200-pound hog will bring you as
much as you used to receive for a
500-pound bale of cotton. Remember
that we are asking you to only
increase your pork by raising the
pigs from one additional sow. If
all farmers comply with this modest
request the meat situation will be
solved and the requirements of our
goverment met. Could we ask you ,
to do less?

and mail and they will be delivered
without postage.

Asks Release from Contracts.
It may be interesting to many of
our readers who own victrolas and
grafanolas, and heard the sweet
J strains of his music, to know that
i Fritz Kreisler, famous Austrian
' violinist,has asked to be released from
. exisiting contracts becase of the at|
tacks made upon him in different
i parts of the country. "Bitter attacks
have been made upon me as
i an Austrian and because at the out;
break of the war I fought as an ofi
ficer in the Austrian army on the
1 Russian front," said a statement issued
by Mr Kreisler. "I have been
criticised for fulfilling engagements
under contracts made long ago. I,
therefore, am asking a]) concerned
to release me from my obligations
under existing conditions. My promise
will be kept to play without compensation
for those charities to
which I have already pledged my
support. 61 shall always remain
deeply sensible of my debt of grati'
tude to this country for past kindi
nesses and appreciation of my art."
By his action, it was said, Kreisler
will forego engagements which
would have brought him $85,000.
