While over at Columbia, S C, attending the Fair, one of the many farmers we met enjoying the sights was S C Majors, a prosperous farmer of Anderson couuty, S C. On Saturday morning following we were in Anderson and met Mr Majors driving a fine horse to his buggy ? mill/ /tvaam guiug aiuuuu senium uum, kinuu and turnips. We told him we were glad to see a farmer in town with something to sell, that we liked to see a gentleman who was willing to sell stuff in town as well as to come there for the purpose of buying. He replied, "While I was down in Columbia this week I found out that if I would break a twenty-dollar bill and spend a dollar here, half a dollar there, it would soon all be gone. I'll have to reverse this plan. If I make a half dollar here and a dime there, I'll soon have enough to make a twenty-dollar bill." No man should be above doing any honest work to make a dollar.
