The retailers of Charleston are preparing to do a record-breaking business this fall and winter. All of them are carrying the best classes of stock. A glance at the show windows rounding cuuuu> as a venter. The firms which will take part in the rebating of railroad fares are able to Supply all the wants of the out-of-town customers and will pay their round-trip fare to Charleston for the purpose of securing their Arade. Thh merchants of Charleston can offer a wide assortment of stocks of all descriptions to the visiting purchasers, and it is the object of the association to treat its out-of-town customers so well that they will want to return to Charleston again and gain, thua increasing the trade of the city. The retailers of the city, in advertising the refund fare plan, set up the following conditions for customers: Out-of-town shoppers may come to Charleston, stay from one to five days, attend the theaters, visit the Island resorts, etc, do buying and aSmmmmmnimrnmiir E E E I See our E ? g: | ppPrices ? Retailers believe that the home trade will be large this season. But they are convinced that their out-oftown trade will increase with leaps and bounds during the coming months because of the refund fare plan which was instituted by the v. Retail Merchants' association several months ago and which has been bringing in rich results. Customers from every part of the State have been brought to Charleston to replenish their stocks, because of the attractiveness of the proposition . brought to their attention by the retailers of this city. "It is tho object of the Retail Merchants' association," said Mr E C , McCarty, member of the Retailers' association, yesterday, ' to build up Ttoarleston as a trade center. We want the out-of-town residents to come to this city and see for themselves what the Charleston merchants have to offer, and to make their purchases here, refunding their roundtrip railroad# fares. We want them ho realize that in Charleston they can get practically anything they want. The onlv conditions to 5 : D be complied with are: First, that * your combined purchases amount to ' $25 or more. Second, that you come from a point 25 miles or more dis\ tant. Third, that your fare must not. exceed 5 per cent of your total purchases. Fourth, that you must buy a , round-trip ticket or get a receipt, from your railroad agent at your S ! home station, showing that you pur- t chased a ticket. } The merchants of Gharleston carry large and well assorted stocks. The matter of selection is easy; you have a variety to choose from. Their | stocks are kept fresh by being re- 1 I plenished often. Prices are very reasonable, considering quality.
