If anything will appeal to these ''slowcoaches" surely "Ego's" suggestion will. The price of subscription 1 is small?so small . indeed that manv of our friends forget that they owe it (or at least they say they do); but think what five' hundred of these little accounts mean to us. If our friend "EgoV suggestion were carried out what a graud Christmas this would be, not only : to the editor, but to the Mrs Editor and the "SecondEdition" as: well. And how much better paper we would be able to give i you in 1910. We hope that many who have neglected us for these many months past will act on our friend's suggestion and make glad the holidays for the editor and those who are dependent upon bis, labors. By the way, where is Dr. Bigham, convicted of participating in the killing of his wife and sentenced to serve a term of three and one-half years iu the penitentiary? Avant, his partner in the crime, i3 already serving his sentence, while Bigham, considered by many the worse offender against the law, is still at large, and so far as the public is advised, no one knows or cares where he is or anything at all about the matter. Greelyville, December 4:?Tlie concert gotten up by Mr and Mrs L Urier Friday night, December for the building fund of the I'resbyterian church was , a grand success. Those who did this work were: Air and Mrs G'rier, Mrs Faunst, Misses Emma Footman and Hattie Tutle. One of the most attractive features of the evening's entertainment was the quartette from Manning, under the leadership of Mr Joe Wells. Then the >weet old sonyfs as >u:in" by the choruses were very enjoyable, brinyiny back* fond recollections of "days that have as happy been' to many. The other lea-! ture< were equally j^ood. I Monday was sales-day and a lot?or rather several lots?of Williamsburg dirt changed hands at what some say were fancv prices. That depends however, altogether on the point of view and the plane of vision of buyer and seller are as a rule quite wide apart, ilowbeit, the real estate was transferred and if any one of these buyers is a sadder man the public is none the wiser. As auctioneer, a new Richmond appeared in the person of Mr Walter 11 Bryan, and when he overcame tile preliminary embarrassment due to the innate modesty of a beginner, Mr Bryan, in the vernacular of the boys, proved to be a cracker-iack. As an admiring by-slander remarked, he had at lasi found iii> calling. There wore two classes ol j sale**, those of the Sheriff under j foreclosure tud nine tracts ad j vertBed bv the executors of the! estate of 1> X Martin.
