Columbia, January 2C:?Senator ,< Bass of Williamsburg has intro-'i duced a bill in the Senate for the j ] protection of gauie fish in the State I and for the repeal of certain laws I relating thereto. < The bill provides that, for the 1 purpose of classification, the follow-1\ ing fish shall be known as game: e fish: Jack fish or pickerel, pike, t black bass or pond trout, sti iped ( bass or rock fish, warmouth, red!t tvilln rftKin kraom Anrmflr.fana AP 1 Utuj , iVUlUy 1/4V.UIXM VVjJ^/Vi *wvv. The section of the a act above does not apply to such persons catching game fish with a C net for the purpose of stocking streams, nor for commercial purpos- i es. The nearest game warden must j y&e notified that the purpose of catch- ] S< ing the fish is for stocking a stream. ! " " The bill further provides that no t game fish shall be sold between the ' d 1st of March and the 1st of Novera-J , : IK <ber. The bill further provides that it f( lis unlawful to poison auy streams or ponds for the purpose of making the fish sick that they may be easily jJl1 -caught. The fine iu this instance j j lis $500. Section 7 provides that no navig- ^ able stream should be obstructed by a dam 01 otherwise unless there be provided a fish way in same. Section 8 provides that it shall be lr.iiiwftil tn draw off the waters of } .any dam to catch fish. r Any non-migratory fish, except ' game fish, allwife or herring and 1 shad, may be caught at any time or in any manner not prohibited by tbis act.
