Sunday morning" Mr P S Court, ney, of the firm of P S Courtney & Co., missed several articles of merchandise from his store including" 4 pairs of shoes, several shirts and some ties. Later in the day he caug"ht Ervin Jones, a negro boy about 12 or 13 years old, wearing one of the shirts. On Monday Mr Courtney swore out a warrant against the boy before Magistrate Grayson and had him bound over to the court of sessions. Failing to give the bond required, $200, Ervin was committed to jail. It is supposed that on Saturday night before the robbery he secreted himself in the store and took the thirnrti at his leisure. There have been a number of these robberies committed recently and it is high time some of the thieves were taught a1 lesson. Letter to J J Graham.
