On Tuesday afternoon the target practice of the Edisto 14ilies, which was intended for the fourth of July, came off oh the old field near the riv er. The target was set at .150 feet from the ~rlUoro.cn, and the .prize1 shooting resulted as follows: W. L. Harley, 1st prize, Set gold studs; T. M. iVlcMiehacl, 2nd prize, Glass Set; L. Inks.?We return thanks to Mr. Kirk Robinson for ? number of cap sules containing powders for making ink, each powder being a different color. The contents of each capsule arc to to be mixed with a half pint of rain water, aud the ink is made. We sire waiting for rain \o make the experiment, and will publish the re sults when we have tested the mat ter. Letbam. a most worthy Scotchman, with wife nDd four children, came from Brooklyn, N. Y. to Orangeburg last week. This excellent family has set tled on the place of Mr. Vastine Joiner in the Fork, a few miles from town.
