Fur tjic Oranguburg Timrs. Our County Fail. Juiitoi' Cront/rbuiu/ Tim< < : The Sixth Annual Exhibition of the. Orungeburg Agricultural an 1 Mccbntical Association will be held in the town of Orangcburg, com mencing on Wednesday 30th Oct. and closing Friday 31st. Ornngcburg County justly claim-; to be ono ot the first in tlio State i.i her productions. She has the finest bui'ding, gave the State building, for her Exhibition, The President is a man finde fatigablc exertions. He has been the leader of an] Agricultural .-society for many years, lie has taught many valuable lessons to the farmers o f this County. He tenches by exnmp'e. When the Society becomes fatigu sd discussing agricultural quo>tt ins oi* interest, he refreshes us with rich and mellow wine, lie proposes to make tin Fair of '7D a complete 'success, lie has succeeded in making every Fair held a success, as far ns^articlcs uxhW J bitcd were concerned. Adver e sea- | sons or some other causes , have inter- I fcred with its financial success. I appeal to the farmers of this County toco operate with the Prosi lc ni, who has spent so much time and tnlciitsd for the farmers, in making our Fair a success.' It depends on you. You owe it to your County, Lmm jmblico, if for no other consideration; but we assure you/if you give u i your 1 company with your family scvi ral days, you will never have 'cause', to re gret it. Farmers have no id j i what energetic spirit Fairs itifisc in the minds of our children. An 1 \\ f r no other consi 1-ration we sh iitl.1 patronize Our County Fair. C >m ', and wegwill insure you that you sh ill be compensated for time and in ?noy j spent with us. Our'l'ics'nUnt is not the man to' make our Fair a catch penny . lie means what he says. Liberal premiums in silver coin offered. By vote of the Board of Di rectors, this change was effected. It was done for a good purpose, that is, that no one might say that wo give i premium worth less than rcprescntc I, and none can accuse the Director > of favoring friends. We have a com plete plan of keeping the Commit' ?> a from knowing the names of exhibitors competing for a prize. The Pre.si dtnt will assign to each Director bis ppccial duty, that every thing shall be conducted in order. Each Direc tor is pledged to do his full duty, and we do it gratuitously. This omsiLr ation .should induce the planters and mechanics to patroui/..; the Fair. En courage us gentlemen. We know the ladies will. We spend half a do/.en days and much labor. All the com pensation we ask " is your company and contributions. If this is grant.- 1 We shall have a little jubilee for several days. Come one and all. L l us have a social meeting ami gather fresh courage to advance in agricul tural pursuits. This is an age of pro gress. Orangeburg at her last Fair proved that she was up to the times. Samples of oats from two farmers were exhibi ted, who claimed to have gathered over 100 bushels per acre. 1 know both of these farmers, they are men of undoubted varacity. Come brother farmers, let us pub lish to the world through our Fair that Ornngcburg is the garden spot at least of the State of South Caro lina. A Fa in Man. ? ?mmm> ? - ? mmm?.
