On Sunday, in the early part of the evening, while the members of the household wire seated elsewhere, .-? me daring thieves put up a ladder to the rear of Mr. Henry lvohn's result nee, entered and carried oil three gallons of w ine, a lot of bread and rol's, and several cans o f fruit and jellies, which they took oil' to a field in the rear, ami had a good time generally. When they had finished tin ir feast, a little after bed time, they had the cool impertinence to come back and remove the ladder. On this second visit, one of them was seen, sitting in the window, by a y< ung lady in the house. 'Ihe jug containing the wine was found afterwards in the field in rear of the house. Wc hear of no clue leading to their detection. A Etiimor Reaches us that somebody, we don't know who, at some place, w e don't know where, has put up, another ticket lor the municipal offices in opposition to the one put in the field by the large and harmonious meeting of tho Democratic citizens held at tho Engine bouse a week ago. We are at a loss to know what can be the object of this movement?un less it is mischief. There was entiro unanimity at the Democratic meet ing, aud therefore Democrats can have no excuse, for this was tho time to speak. Besides this the ticket represents, as near as possible, all tho varied interests of the town. Tho fact is Democrats can't go back upon it, ami wc don't believe they have any idea of doing it. "Brother Jacob," by all ye -singers, was filled with life and full, and will long be remembered. "Bird of Beauty," by Mis. K. U. Hamilton and her son, was a musical gem, and most highly ap preciated as the general expressions of commendation indicate. "Cousin Jedcdiali," led by Messrs Kohn, Salley, Wannamaker, Wolf'o and sustained by a host of others, furnished tho mirth of tho ovcuiug. "Auhl Lang Syne" was good ? Capt. M.
