It will be a bt»y spring when we fail to call ycnr attention to the primrose, | and there in a very wood reason why the ' little annnal suggestion in this news paper should not be omitted. Many, oh, so many people love the primrose. To them probably it has its own Kngg<n- lions, and particularly to English born jieople, whose poet made it famous, but yet even the youth seem to love the sturdy little flower, and they certainly never saw it by the river’s bnnV when ! they were l>oys and girls. Of course a man loves his youth time, and he is justifli-d in it. If a primrose makes | liim think of laving his bare toes in the 1 limpid waters of the stream iu the drowsy day when he was only 10 or 13, i and had a world before him. why, let j him love it on forever, till he dies. In that event, once each year, at least, when he sees the flower, he will be. a >>oy again, and that will do him no harm, if tie welt' a good l)oy and loved the fields. If you doubt this sentiment you need to watch people who are glad when tile primroses come into the ( tores. Most of them enkindle. On one cent lutisTs the dealer’s profit is only half a cent, and in many instances the half cent is lost because there is no coin of this value. An appreciable loss ; arises from this source in tlie conrse of i a year. It is a favorite way in marking retail poods of all kinds to rate them in sin'h a way that the half cent comes in. j and in every case goes to the dealer. This odd cent in a large establishment ; certainly amounts to several dollars I daily, which the buyers lose and the seller gains for want of one-half cent coin.
