Newberry will be handicap ped on their defense with in juries from linebackers Ken Pettus and Mark Davis. Pettus with a badly bruised leg and Davis with an injured shoulder. Pettus is the leading point man on defense. Coach Robertson is relying on his big front four (Marion Waters, Andy Murtiff, Buzz Brown, and Howard Mer rick) to get to the Bruin backs. Newberry’s offense has rol led up 1,044 yards total, offense against their opponents, 652 in three games. But fumbles and interceptions have taken their toll on the tribe.
