"Can Wo Wave the Flay Too Much''" This Fourth of July Week seems an appropriate time to reprint it here. Tile statement is by S L behove who eondueted a radio proyram called. "Know Your History Hour' A listener wrote to him, "Your proyrams are wonderful, but you are waving the flag too much' This is Mr DeLove's answer to the listener Is it possible to wave the flag too much'.’ Provided, of course, that you wave it with mteynty'f Is it possible to study Lincoln or Shakespeare too much 9 Is it possible to read the Bible too much 9 "The great, the good, the true, are inexhaustible for in spiration. example and strength. When a member meets County night be July 22 at Liberty Tree In order to assure good at tendance at The Liberty Tree, South Carolina's award winning drama, County Nights and other designated nights are again be ing scheduled. The highly suc cessful County Nights held last season have prompted other counties to participate this sea son as well as several who had a designated night last year to again reserve a night. Camden-Kershaw. Lexington. Colleton, Fairfield and Newber ry counties have already re scheduled their dates for this season. Other counties are firm ing up dates. Newberry County F a m i 1 y Night is designated for Tuesday, July 22. Special price of tickets for county night is $2.00 f o r adults, $1.00 for children. Tick ets are available at the New berry County Development Board, city offices of Newberry, Whitmire and Prosperity as well as local radio stations. Members of the cast wili make a special appearance in New berry and the date will be de signated in the near future. The SAR and DAR Groups of the State will meet at The Lib erty Tree July 4. Chesterfield Baptist Church and the Wally Byam Airstream Caravan will help fill the amphitheatre on July 5. Other groups such as a group from the V. S. Campers Convention meeting in South Carolina this summer will be booked on July 16. South Caro lina Federation of Womens Club will be present in early August. The Taylor Publishing Company and others have already secured tickets for a night. As well as depicting the Pal metto State’s role as one of the original 13 Colonies, this family type entertainment is proving very popular as South Carolin ians and tourists are searching for something to do during the summer months. Some of the Palmetto State Lmt members are attending the International WBbCi rally at Laramie, Wyoming this week. Over 3.900 trailers are expected there. The Palmetto group holds a rally the first week-end of each month except December and January.
