For a long time now. 1 have
had on my desk an article en
titled. "Can Wo Wave the Flay
Too Much''" This Fourth of July
Week seems an appropriate time
to reprint it here.

to the listener
Is it possible to wave the
flag too much'.’ Provided, of
course, that you wave it with

week and others are pulling in

Liberty Tree
In order to assure good at
tendance at The Liberty Tree,
South Carolina's award winning
drama, County Nights and other
designated nights are again be
ing scheduled. The highly suc
cessful County Nights held last
season have prompted other
counties to participate this sea
son as well as several who had
a designated night last year to
again reserve a night.
Camden-Kershaw. Lexington.
Colleton, Fairfield and Newber
ry counties have already re
scheduled their dates for this
season. Other counties are firm
ing up dates.

Night is designated for Tuesday,
July 22. Special price of tickets
for county night is $2.00 f o r
adults, $1.00 for children. Tick
ets are available at the New
berry County Development
Board, city offices of Newberry,
Whitmire and Prosperity as well
as local radio stations.
Members of the cast wili make
a special appearance in New
berry and the date will be de
signated in the near future.
The SAR and DAR Groups of
the State will meet at The Lib
erty Tree July 4. Chesterfield
Baptist Church and the Wally
Byam Airstream Caravan will
help fill the amphitheatre on
July 5. Other groups such as
a group from the V. S. Campers
Convention meeting in South
Carolina this summer will be
booked on July 16. South Caro
lina Federation of Womens Club
will be present in early August.
The Taylor Publishing Company
and others have already secured
tickets for a night.
As well as depicting the Pal
metto State’s role as one of the
original 13 Colonies, this family
type entertainment is proving
very popular as South Carolin
ians and tourists are searching
for something to do during the
summer months. The Liberty
Tree joins the ranks of other
successful dramas as a real tour
ist attraction m this region

roster listed 22.930 names and
addresses.

Lmt members are attending the
International WBbCi rally at
Laramie, Wyoming this week.
Over 3.900 trailers are expected
there.
The Palmetto group holds a
rally the first week-end of each
month except December and
January. They like Lake Mur
ray so well that they have de
cided to hold their August 1.2.3
rally at “Shady Springs" It is
unusual, the same location two
times m succession
